Session by Session

Session 1 – Understanding the Impact of Parental Imprisonment
Delving into research, statistics, our awareness-raising film, and the broader effects of parental imprisonment.
 
Session 2 – The Journey Through Parental Imprisonment
From arrest to release, highlighting the importance of early identification and the pivotal role of language through case study discussions and crib sheet analysis.
 
Session 3 – Specific Considerations in Cases of Parental Imprisonment
Exploring different offences and their implications on intervention, language, contact, and additional safeguarding issues.
 
Session 4 – Creating a Nurturing Environment for Children
Looking at CHaS’ model school policy and its relevance to your whole school approach, fostering empathy in the classroom, and curating appropriate literature for school libraries.
 
Session 5 – Supporting Children Affected by Parental Imprisonment
Supportive resources, the support triangle (universal, targeted, specialist) support in your area.
 
Session 6 – Implementing Strategies for Positive Transformation
Reflecting on learning outcomes, identifying next steps, exploring further training opportunities, and connecting with the Parental Imprisonment network.
 
The introductory price for this program is £125 per person.

Start Date – Wednesday 14th January 2026 1pm – 3pm
Subsequent sessions on: 28th January, 11th February, 25th February, 11th March (all 1pm – 3pm)
Session 6 to be agreed with participants.
 
Each session is 2 hours delivered via Zoom in the afternoon.
