Children with a Mother in Prison: Snapshot Report

In 2020, Children Heard and Seen launched a specialised post to support the distinct needs of children with a mother in prison. At the time of our first report in July 2020, very little was known about the experiences of children with a mother in prison from a practitioner perspective.

To date, Children Heard and Seen have supported 94 children separated from their mother by a prison sentence. This report draws upon the themes, experiences of these 94 children, contributing to the database of learning for practitioners and policymakers to draw from.
