As part of our campaign to create change for children impacted by parental imprisonment, we would like every school in the country to have an official policy in place on how to support children with a parent in prison.
This policy was created by Children Heard and Seen practitioners with teaching experience and lived experience of parental imprisonment. It was written in consultation with children and parents we support, as well as teachers with lived experience of having had a parent in prison.
This is the 1st edition of the policy, and we will be reviewing it every 6 months. We are always receptive to further suggestions and ideas, so please get in touch if you have any.
